Veterinarians

Dr. John Huff

Dr. Huff received his DVM from the University of Missouri in 1992 and has continued his education in the fields of veterinary chiropractic and canine reproduction. Three of his most intense interests have always been to serve people, to care for animals, and to gain medical knowledge. When the idea of becoming a veterinarian was presented to him as a potential career, it was clear that this one vocation perfectly combined those three drives that run so deep in his heart. Additionally, he’s grateful to serve with a team of professionals that really understand how important our animal companions are to those that love them.

Dr. Huff has been married to his wife, Andrea, since 1987. They consider themselves blessed to be the parents of five of the most interesting, contributing, and enjoyable young people on earth. They’ve also been foster parents to a number of others throughout the years. At home, he has several animal companions including four dogs, thirteen cats, and a donkey named Waffles. In his spare time, Dr. Huff enjoys motorcycles, shooting sports, beekeeping, tractors, and messing with his cows, all of which he considers his “fun things.”

In addition to his work at AMC, Dr. Huff serves as the chaplain at the county juvenile detention center, and he is on the board of directors for Focus, Inc. an organization that provides for people with disabilities. He and Andrea also participate in several ongoing projects of compassion in the African countries of Uganda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. They travel there every few months to tend to the work, including establishing medical clinics, schools, churches, clean water sources, and demonstration farms.

Dr. Victoria Zachary

Dr. Zachary received her DVM from the University of Missouri in 2008. Growing up, she always wanted to be a teacher (like her mom), and she had a great love of animals and science (like her dad, who is a biologist), and veterinary medicine happily combined the two! Her favorite part of being a veterinarian is helping people have more quality time with their pets.

Dr. Zachary is married to her husband, Travis, who is also a vet, and they have one daughter, Vivianna. Their pets include Thalia, a Boxer; Harvie and Jubilee, Boston Terriers; and Belladonna and Barley, her two cats. In her free time, she enjoys reading, cross-stitching, baking and gardening, and she has a deep love of dark chocolate. Most of all though, she loves being a mother!

Dr. Angela Free

Dr. Angela Free is a native of Cleveland, MS. Her love for animals started early in life when she could be found tending to her menagerie of cats, dogs, and pocket pets. After graduating with a bachelor's degree in Biology from Delta State University, Dr. Free pursued her veterinary degree at Mississippi State University, where she graduated in 2014. After graduation, Dr. Free practiced at a 24-hour hospital prior to moving closer to home in 2015, where she has since been practicing in Northeast Arkansas. She enjoys small animal practice and has special interests in dermatology and soft tissue surgery, and is also passionate about the human-animal bond.

Dr. Free is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Arkansas Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Free, her husband, and their infant daughter share their home with a Weimaraner, George Bush, and a tuxedo cat, Mo.

Dr. Heather Curry

Dr. Curry received her DVM from LSU in 2008. She has always been fascinated by animals and science, a passion which led her toward a veterinary career. As a vet at AMC, she finds that the most rewarding experience is the relationships she forms with clients and their pets, as well as watching pets grow up. She is grateful to work in an environment where the needs of pets are put first and where she can share a family-like atmosphere with the whole team!

Dr. Curry is married with two children, Bryce and Lily Dale. They also have four pets including Honey, a Golden Retriever; Gibbs, a Jack Russell Terrier; Sammy an orange tabby; and Norman, a guinea pig. In her spare time, she often attends baseball games, ASU football, and takes vacations with family. She also loves reading and dining out.
